Frequently Asked Questions
My Delivery FAQ
What's the difference between Business and Residential delivery?Business deliveries all occur on Mondays and are composed of snack-room items. We have a limited selection of produce on Mondays. If you want produce for your home delivered to your office, please select ‘Residential' in your preferences and just leave a comment saying it is being delivered to your office.
What's my delivery day? This is dependent on your zip code. We deliver to different zip codes on different days (except business deliveries which are always on Monday).
What if I am not in your delivery area? You can either have your box delivered to your office (remember to still select residential account) or you can try to get several people around you to sign up as well and we'll talk about making exceptions with you. At the very least, please send us your information so we know where our organic goodness is being missed.
How do I know when my produce will arrive? When creating your account you will be able to select from a list of time windows to receive your box. Some areas only have 1 time window to choose from, some have more. Sometimes these windows have to be shifted. We will contact you if we need to schedule a different delivery time. Our trucks are usually loaded with 15-30 boxes, so there is no way to pinpoint when a delivery will arrive or promise a delivery at a certain time. But rest assured that our insulated bins will keep your goodies fresh for several hours on a porch.
When do I need to update my order?
The cut-off for updates is three days before your delivery date. For example, if your delivery is Thursday, we ask that you update your order by Monday evening. The web site will automatically move your order to the following week if your update is made after this deadline. Orders cannot be cancelled after this cutoff either. If you discover last-minute you cannot take your order, please call us to arrange for a different delivery location or to donate your order to the local food bank.
How do the plastic bins work?We deliver your produce in heavy-duty plastic bins that protect the freshness of the produce and we request that you put the plastic bin out for pick up on your next delivery day. Each customer is assigned two heavy duty plastic bins. These plastic bins are rotated with your delivery. If you forget to place out your plastic bin, we will deliver your next order in a cardboard box. If we are unable to collect your bins after several deliveries, we will charge you for the bins. On your first delivery there is a refundable $10 deposit charged for the plastic bins. If you choose to cancel service and return the bins you will be issued a credit for this deposit.

How do I change my basket? You can find a pending order (one that has not been delivered) in your ‘My Account' page. You may click on this pending order and update its contents as long as your order cutoff has not passed (3 days prior to delivery). Any future delivery can also be edited by selecting the basket from the drop-down menu and editing its contents.
What if I did not update my order on-line?Your previous order will continue to arrive according to your delivery schedule.
What if I need to reset my password? If you enter an invalid username/password combo, a link to reset your password should appear on the screen along with a link to request your username. If they do not appear, please click on the 'Contact Us' page and send us an email or just call.
How do I put my orders on temporary hold?Just click on your 'Delivery Schedule' from your 'My Accounts' page. You will see a list of the next 8 weeks and your scheduled delivery days. We try to update our produce list as often as we can. What you see on the web site is what we plan to have available.
Occasionally, we discover at the last minute that the vendor/farmer does not have the item or the quality is questionable. Then we try to substitute with another produce item of equivalent value. If there are any items you wish to never receive or would always prefer to receive, please mention them in the comments box.

Food FAQ
What produce is out of season? We try to update our produce list as often as we can. What you see on the web site is what we plan to have available.

In any given week we may get produce from 10-15 different farmers all over Central Texas. We will soon begin featuring farmers on our web site so you can meet them and learn about their operations. We also get organic produce not grown in Texas from places like California and Colorado. This gives you the greatest selection while still delivering the freshest produce possible.
Will the produce be OK outside?Depending on the season, most produce will do just fine sitting outside for short periods of time. During the summer, it may not be advisable to order extremely perishable items if nobody will be home to receive the produce. If any items do spoil from sitting outside, we will be happy to replace them.
Is all of your produce certified organic?Everything that is not locally produced is certified Organic. We do work with local farms that are not certified, but grow organically and run sustainable farms. Many of them are too small to warrant the time and money it takes to get the USDA certification, but we believe their product to be the best in the land. We also work with farms that are in transition to certified organic land (growing organically and in the process of being certified by the USDA). Yields are often lower during transition, as the soil repairs itself, and technically their produce is still considered conventional for 3 years so it is very difficult for farmers to transition from conventional to organic. We believe helping these farmers is an important part of increasing the accessibility and availability of organic food for everyone. We try to show conventional farmers the benefits of transitioning to organics, we offer consulting services to help get them started, and we purchase their transitional product to help them manage the transition.
What else do you carry?
We try to carry the largest selection of Organic food possible. We investigate every company we work with, though, to ensure they are committed to the same things we are. If a company has questionable production methods or is deemed not socially responsible we simply won't buy from them. You can be certain that everything you buy from Greenling is not only the highest quality, but is produced by people who care about what they are putting on your table.
Why don't you carry raw milk? The short answer is - It's illegal. I guess there's not really a long answer. In Texas, you can only buy raw milk directly from the farm, on the farm. There are some people who have found some loopholes, but that's all we'll say about that. Well, I guess we'll also say we think it's absolutely ridiculous the government feels they have the right to keep you from enjoying this healthy, tasty beverage.
